Eight young spellcasters—Raven, Sky, Lark, Nova, Sage, Fox, Shadow, and Gale—are all eager to cast their spells and earn the top spot in The Spelling Bee! But when a spell goes horribly wrong, it’s up to the kids to work together to solve the mystery of who turned Professor Star!

Professor Star: Professor Star is the Mayor of Starryfalls and runs the Spelling Bee every year. They are very wise and know everything there is to know about magic and spells. Rumor has it, their magical cupboard holds all sorts of magical ingredients and items.
Teacher Moon: Teacher Moon is an apprentice to Professor Star. They are always working hard on their magic and learning more from the Professor themselves. They help run the Spelling Bee as well.
Teacher Sun: Teacher Sun is an apprentice to Professor Star. They are always working hard on their magic and learning more from the Professor themselves. They help run the Spelling Bee as well.
Sky: Sky is an older student who likes to cast enchantments. They are an eager learner, sometimes biting off more than they can chew with their magic. Their sibling is Gale. They are an older student hoping to attend Magnolia Academy in the Fall.
Gale: Gale is a natural prankster and class clown, preferring to use jinxes. They have been friends with Shadow forever and their sibling is Sky.
Nova: Nova is a naturally gifted spellcaster, who prefers to use charms. They have won several past Spelling Bees and have a rivalry with Raven. Their sibling is Lark.They are an older student hoping to attend Magnolia Academy in the Fall.
Lark: Lark is a bright and bubbly younger student, who prefers to use charms just like their sibling, Nova. Unlike their sibling, they prefer to hang out with friends rather than do their spell work.
Sage: Sage is a quiet studious student who prefers the company of Professor Star to their fellow students. Professor Star gives them lots of special assignments and they love following the rules. They primarily use enchantments.
Shadow: Shadow is an older student, specializing in jinxes. While they love a good prank, they take their magic very seriously. Their best friend is Gale.
Raven: Raven is a naturally gifted spellcaster, who prefers to use hexes. They have won several past Spelling Bees and have a rivalry with Nova. They prefer animals to people and love all things spooky and ghostly. They are an older student hoping to attend Magnolia Academy in the Fall.
Fox: Fox is a new student to Starryfalls and no one is quite sure where they came from. They seem very nice, if a little mysterious, and they prefer to cast hexes.
