Our Values

Our play is foul, our values are not.

  • No Geek Left Behind

There is room for everyone in our games. We believe everyone should see themselves in a story, so we make sure our games are for everyone.

  • Free to Geek

There is no level or requirement of geekiness to play. Whether you are ready to dive in and chat with everyone or you are more of a wallflower who wants to take things slow, our games fit anyone’s play-style! Go in as easy or as hard as you want.

  • Explore New Frontiers

We take it to the next level by writing games that go beyond a typical murder mystery setting. From a faraway spaceport to a remote lake cabin, and even more, we leave behind the speakeasies and give players new and amazing worlds and settings to envelop themselves in!

  • Game On

We want to encourage a space where geeks can feel free to play and have fun, and build a community where the fun never stops!

  • Make it Your Own

We want players to embrace our characters and the worlds we build as their own. We start the story, but it’s up to players how to move through it!

  • A Little Mystery is Good

We believe in new experiences and new ideas. Sometimes the most fun happens outside your comfort zone—we invite you to take the leap with us!

How It Started

In 2009, two college freshman decided to start a murder mystery club at Western Washington University. What started as games with a few friends turned into a 60+ person club with late night dumpling runs, Goodwill costume trips, and years of wildly fun games.

We realized how important murder mystery was to give people of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to explore and play, all while engaging in foul play. What had started as planning parties and writing killer stories turned into building a community.

We began writing our own games to fill the many gaps left by other games, and it became a way to create spaces for people to truly be themselves. Little did we know just what it would spark…

How It’s Going

Now we get to do what we love: creating worlds, sharing stories, and bringing people together through planning murder mystery parties.

Since we started Foulplay Games, we’ve hosted over a hundred games, appeared at conventions like GeekGirlCon and Emerald City Comic Con, and have shared our stories with thousands of people across the country.

We love that Foulplay isn’t only about us—it’s about you. We start the stories, but you bring the magic. We can’t wait to create a story with you and your friends.
